The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient implementation of decommissioning activities and radioactive waste management at the JRC Geel site. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nuclear safety, work with national and European stakeholders, and grow within a multidisciplinary team at the heart of the EU’s science and knowledge service.
🔎 Key responsibilities include: ✔️ Coordinating decommissioning plans
✔️ Liaising with Belgian regulatory authorities (FANC/AFCN, ONDRAF/NIRAS)
✔️ Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations
✔️ Supporting stakeholder engagement and communication
✔️ Managing timelines, risks, and reporting
🔍 Ideal profile:
Candidates with experience in nuclear decommissioning, radiation protection, or nuclear facility operations, ideally familiar with Belgian regulations and fluent in English (C1) and French (B2).
