The Pilsen International SMR Workshop is a one-week event that brings together students and young professionals interested in nuclear energy who want to integrate new advanced nuclear technologies and develop and push these progressive energy sources that can effectively support long-term environmental goals.
Event is hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of West Bohemia, in collaboration with industrial partners.
This event has been partially supported by the ENEN2plus project, an euratom action founded by the European Union
PROGRAM
Lectures and workshops for introduction to small modular reactors from:
- technology perspective
- nuclear safety issues
- economics aspects
- energy mix and electricity grid integration
- relationship with stakeholders and regulators importance
- public relations and acceptance issues.
Technical visits to nuclear-related manufacturing facilities in the Pilsen region are also scheduled as well as hands-on activities focused on developing participants’ competencies and team cooperation.
PARTICIPATION
The participation fee is 600 EUR per person.
500 EUR will be provided by the ENEN2plus mobility project, and 100 EUR will be covered by participants for preliminary registration confirmation. You will receive the amount back to your bank account if you are not selected for participation.
The deadline for registration is Friday, 29th of September; the prepayment must be done by the same date.
ENEN2plus project will also cover participants’ travel and accommodation costs with a lump sum of 900 EUR.
Travel support applications must be individually submitted through ENEN2plus Portal (“Individuals applying to group events”)
You will be informed about your application acceptance on Monday 2nd of October. Startingwith this date, you will be able to apply for the grant.
If you don’t want to use the grant for your participation, please indicate this information in the registration form. You must prepay the full participation fee of 600 EUR in this case.
Citizens of the Czech Republic cannot apply for the grant and have to pay the full participation fee of 600 EUR.
