We are pleased to announce the opening of the applications for the Second Edition of the 1st level Specializing Master Programme on Nuclear Safeguards (Specializing Master Programme). This Programme is part of the EU-funded project MC3.01/18 “Safeguards Training and Education”. The First Edition of the Specializing Master Programme was successfully completed in October 2022 awarding 19 graduates from extra-EU countries and 5 from the EU.
The Programme is organized in close cooperation between the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) and European Commission Joint Research Center (EC JRC).
The Programme is implemented in a blended format including 8 months of online modules, 5 Weeks of in-presence labs in Europe and 3 months of individual project work.
The objective of the Specializing Master Programme is to educate and develop the competences of employees in order to enhance the efficiency of their actions in the field of Nuclear Safeguards and support the continuous development of a professional, competent and motivated workforce. The Programme proposes a cross-divisional training path, involving political science, legal approach and nuclear scientific and technological areas, aimed to form key figures educated in a multidisciplinary manner to be involved in the Nuclear Safeguards sector.
What makes this Specializing Master Programme unique?
First, the Programme promotes a role of the effective nuclear safeguards and the use of the best international practices in the area.
Second, implementation of the Programme ensures transfer of knowledge from the EU professionals in Nuclear Safeguards to the students from the EU and extra-EU countries.
Third, high-level research and technological content, as well as an innovative didactic model delivered by the Programme, builds new strong capacities within the Nuclear Safeguards area both in the EU and outside the EU.
And, eventually, it is a fantastic opportunity for professionals and students who want to focus on Nuclear Safeguards to have an academic Master level diploma.
