PhD/postdoc position open at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (starting October 2020, duration 4 years)

The UPM Science and Technology of Advanced Nuclear Fission Systems research group is offering two research positions that can be either for PhD candidates or for post-docs. The work will be developed under the #Horizon2020 AMHYCO research project, which main objective is to improve the Severe Accident Management Guidelines for both in-vessel and ex-vessel accident conditions in a nuclear reactor to consider combustible gases risk management, using both numerical and experimental results.

The candidates are expected to have a good background in engineering/physics and a strong motivation for international research. The UPM nuclear research group has more than 40 years of experience in education and research in international projects, such as NURESAFE, ESFR-SMART, ENEN+, PIACE or HYMERES2.

The contracts will start by October 1st 2020 and will last 4 years. They are a good opportunity to start or continue a research career in Nuclear Safey and Thermal-hydraulics.
