Politecnico di Milano – in collaboration with ENEN – is organizing the 2nd International School on Early-deployable Small Modular Reactors in Lecco, Como lake, Italy from June 24th to June 28th, 2024. The school is mean to approach the Small Modular Reactor technology in a holistic way. The focus is on Light Water SMRs, the most early-deployable technology but some insights will be provided on Advanced Modular Reactors which use non-water technologies. The topics covered will range from the current status of the SMR development in Europe and in the World, the safety strategy of SMRs, the experimental facilities required to the licensing of SMRs, the cogeneration capabilities of SMRs to the point of view of utilities, vendors, and other stakeholders, including the citizenship. Lectures will be offered by international experts. A live Q&A and discussion session with the floor will conclude each seminar. The modelling of experimental data will be the challenge for some hands on projects.
📚 Who Should Attend? MSc and PhD students, young researchers, in the broad field of nuclear sciences, engineering and technologies.
