June 27 – July 1 , 2022: “Hands on training on NPP simulations: Building up a full model of an SMR reactor. 9th edition”.
Next 2022 onsite training course offered in Barcelona
DATES: June 27 – July 1 , 2022
Hands on training on NPP simulations: Building up a full model of an SMR reactor.
The training is a joint effort between the Technical University of Catalonia, the Incheon National University and ENSO.
The two premises of the course are
(1) Learn by doing, from the design drawing to the analysis of the results,
(2) Personalized support, we will have at least one coach every five people to guarantee this point.
The course is aimed at transferring advanced knowledge and best practices in system code modelling for nuclear power plants.
In particular, the 2022 edition will focus on the simulation of an SMR reactor. A simplified model of a Light water pressurized SMR will be developed from scratch. The participants will be guided through the process starting with the review of public information that can be found in the literature. Afterwards, the full primary and secondary systems will be developed. In the last part of the course, a station blackout scenario will be configured, and the capacity of the necessary safety systems will be evaluated.
For this year edition, the training will be onsite as in the first five editions. If COVID restrictions do not finally allow travel to Barcelona, the sessions will be conducted online as in the previous editions 2020 and 2021. Further details on the training can be found in the attached brochure.
Registration is now open.
Fill the attached form and send it to info@ensobcn.com to register.
Information of online training if COVID restrictions are finally applied:
Participants will join up to 5 people groups per lecturer in video chat rooms. In addition, general lectures will be conducted for all the audience in the main meeting room. The chat rooms will allow to work together on the training materials as well as perform live individual questions to the lecturers. In the main meeting room, the lecturers will do master classes about SMR reactors, accident phenomenology, V&V, and the resolution of the exercises.
The course will be distributed in 6 sessions / 2 weeks’ time frame to provide more time to work in-depth with the training material and to complete the day-by-day tasks. In addition, a free day has been added between the sessions to allow the participants to work on their own and to send specific questions to the trainers by email.
If participants do not finally want to move to online training, the registration fee will be totally refunded (cancellations must be confirmed at least one week before the start of the training).
