[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Thematic Session \u201cNuclear Science for a Safer Society\u201d – 09:00 \u2013 10:30, Monday 14 February 2022″][vc_column_text][\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For over three decades, scientists from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) have collaborated with African partners to produce scientific evidence that can support the Africa-EU joint policy priorities. In the run-up to the 6th<\/sup> AU-EU Summit, the Africa-Europe week is a fantastic opportunity to stress the importance of scientific collaboration in reaching the AU-EU common goals<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

You are invited to a thematic session on Nuclear Science for a Safer Society<\/span> in Africa on Monday 14 Feb from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of this session will be to discuss the current and upcoming policy questions that require a multi-disciplinary, cross-sectorial approach and identify new and enhanced opportunities for cooperation and partnerships. The main conclusions will be reported in a high-level discussion later that morning.<\/p>\n

Later on, at 11:00<\/strong><\/span> am that same day, the Africa-Europe week side event<\/strong><\/span> \u201cScience for the Africa-EU partnership<\/a>\u201d will showcase the JRC\u2019s multidisciplinary and collaborative work on Africa. JRC will present the Africa Knowledge platform<\/a> \u2013 a new\u00a0visual and interactive\u00a0gateway to JRC\u2019s work on Africa \u2013 and discuss how to strengthen the role of Science, Technology, and Innovation<\/strong> in supporting the policy goals of the AU-EU partnership.<\/p>\n
