\"\"This “Multimedia on Nuclear Reactor Physics” is available for\u00a0Education and Training\u00a0distribution to non-commercial and commercial organizations through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).\u00a0As of September 2017, this\u00a0multimedia\u00a0has been distributed to more than 100\u00a0<\/strong>countries.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Multimedia has been developed by the\u00a0Technical University of Catalonia – Barcelona Tech<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(UPC), Spain, in cooperation with ENEN (under the FP6 ENEN II project), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and several other international organisations. It has been used by UPC for its Master’s course programme in Nuclear Engineering and is several training activities.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The\u00a0author\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0Prof. Ph.D. Ing. Javier Dies<\/strong>, Commissioner of the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council, and Professor Chair in Nuclear Engineering, at the Technical University of Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC), currently on special leave. Previously, he has been Vice President European Nuclear Education Network, ENEN, from 2013 to 2016; and Vice Dean of the School of Engineering of Barcelona, ETSEIB-UPC, from 1995 to 2002. He has participated in 13 missions (Argentina, Austria, China, Ghana, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tailandia, USA Vietnam,) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); and in\u00a0R&D projects of\/with: the European Community, Spanish national R&D,\u00a0<\/span>Association Euratom-Ciema, ENRESA, TECNATOM, Spanish Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Association Nuclear Asco-Vandellos II AIE, ENDESA, ITER Organization, Fusion for Energy, Eurofusion, etc.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”3098″][vc_column_text]You can see an overview of the multimedia content\u00a0in the\u00a0following video<\/a><\/p>\n

The Fukushima Daiichi Accident, published by the IAEA<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Fukushima Daiichi Accident<\/em> consists of a Report by the IAEA Director General and five technical volumes. It is the result of an extensive international collaborative effort involving five working groups with about 180 experts from 42 Member States with and without nuclear power programmes and several international bodies. It provides a description of the accident and its causes, evolution and consequences, based on the evaluation of data and information from a large number of sources available at the time of writing.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A new text book on “Neutron Physics” by Professor Paul Reuss has just been published by\u00a0INSTN under ENEN label. This book is one of the deliverables produced under\u00a0the European Commission\u00a0FP6 project ENEN II.<\/p>\n

The author\u00a0Paul Reuss<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0has spent his entire career at the French Atomic Energy Commission and is a Professor at\u00a0the CEA – National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN).<\/p>\n

\"\"Neutron physics is the essential part of reactor physics. It is the main subject taught to students preparing for Master degree in Nuclear Engineering. For this purpose, this book takes an instructional approach and is also intended for all physicists and engineers involved in the development or operational aspects of nuclear power.<\/p>\n
